We are looking for a full-time Electronics Design Support Engineer who is interested in working on Fusion Entertainment's next generation products.
Position Summary
Test, debug, qualify, troubleshoot, repair, modify advanced developmental and production electronic circuits, equipment, and systems.
Essential Functions
Partner with Design Engineers to debug prototypes including new circuits or systems. May modify designs, build, and test prototype circuits for new products
Perform PCB and unit modifications including adjusting, calibrating, aligning, and/or modifying circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance
Recommend design improvements and changes in circuitry or assembly methods to improve reliability or simplify assembly and maintenance
Operate and maintain lab equipment/tools, including lab test fixtures and apparatus. May design test fixture improvements using standard or automated tools such as LabVIEW
Creates system integration test benches/setups
Write technical reports, including documentation of the test setup, block diagrams, and test setup schematics to fully document test results and analysis
Set up, run and complete detailed qualification plans and reports (DV, PV, ELOT, FCC/CE, etc.) with little direction and produces error free reports
Able to lead or assist with new component evaluation and qualification including power supplies, tuners, LCDs, SD cards, Flash/DRAM die shrink, etc.
Shares knowledge on lab tools/processes/procedures to assist others
Perform job functions independently with minimal direction from supervisor and with a balanced focus on quality and quantity
Demonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion
Applies Garmin processes and procedures and works collaboratively and professionally in a team environment with other Garmin employees to achieve goals
Accepts and acts on constructive criticism
Identifies and resolves issues using proper engineering tools and techniques
Independently determines general approach and specific solutions to technical problems
Applies Garmin's Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and exhibits enthusiasm for and a desire to see Garmin succeed

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering e.g. Electronics, Mechatronics
Demonstrated understanding of advanced level schematic designs and design of test circuits
Must demonstrate expert proficiency using lab equipment and tools including ability to efficiently create test setups and advanced level designs
Able to design and create automated tests using LabView, or other similar test tools and perform advanced lab skills for continuous improvement of testing quality and efficiency
Demonstrates understanding of electrical engineering/software system interactions and can differentiate between hardware and software problems
Demonstrates full use of design standards and procedures and advanced knowledge of product test plans and procedures
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Excellent time management and follow-up skills
