Job Description

Are you an experienced HCA looking for a new challenge?
The Orthopaedic setting is ideal for people who enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment. We are seeking an experienced permanent, part time Health Care Assistant to join the Orthopaedics team at Auckland City Hospital.
As Auckland Hospital is a leading trauma centre, Orthopaedics offers you the opportunity to widen your experience in caring for people within the scope of multi-trauma and elective orthopaedic specialty. Our population is diverse – you will work within a multi- disciplinary team where you will care for patients aged 15-106 years. Our multi-disciplinary approach is crucial to patient care and discharge planning. The Observation Unit provides a place for the care of patients with high-health needs. Our team also extends to include other specialties such as Pain and Trauma.
This role requires a mature person with a hands’ on approach who holds a Level 4 MIT Health Support Assistant Certificate (or equivalent) coupled with at least 6 months previous healthcare assistant experience, ideally in a clinical setting. The successful applicant must be able to work rostered rotating shifts and understands that this role involves patient handling so excellent communication skills and patient lifting are a must.
In return we can offer you the chance to enhance your clinical skills and experience, as well as being part of a multidisciplinary, professional team, that is committed to delivering quality care in a challenging and rewarding environment.
There is a permanent part time position available working 24 hours per week.
Please apply online on our website http://careers.adhb.govt.nz/ quoting reference #CEN01904. For help with your online application, please contact Jade Cowley, Recruitment Consultant at [email protected]
Applications close: 26th June 2017
