Stellar Recruitment is partnered with a modern mining company operating mine sites across New Zealand. The company is focused on ensuring the benefits of its assets are delivered back to the community, environment, and the economies in which it operates. Due to internal personnel movements at one of their operations they are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to be part of a key team responsible for all sites and the health and saftey cultural aspects at the mine.
This semi-autonomous role would suit a solid and forward thinking H&S advisor who thrives in fast paced, challenging environments, is flexible in attitude and rapidly adapts to change and encourages this across a team in a constructive and positive manner. You will be a pro-active self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to fit into the site culture seamlessly. This is a great opportunity to boost your experience with future growth opportunities into a larger mine projects.
Key Accountabilities Of The Role Will Include
Conduct Investigations
Conduct JSO
Conduct / Assist JSEA
Perform work place inspections
Conduct Hazard Assessment and reporting
Provide timely advice and support on H&S issues in field
Liaise and assist change management with supervisors, managers and site personnel across various sites.
To Be Successful In This Role You Must Have
A diploma or qualification in Health and Safety practices.
A strong working knowledge of mine environmental requirements and relevant legislation
A strong MS Office skill set
A high attention to detail and time management skills
The confidence to work autonomously in a fast-paced and rugged environment
A high level of communication skills
