Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Nurse Specialist is available (part time) within Starship's Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service (PCCS).
The Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing specialist nursing care and/or coordination of care to paediatric cardiac patients and their families across health care settings.

The successful candidate will be able work autonomously and as part of the senior nursing team who are committed to effective/evidenced based nursing practice. Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are essential in order to relate to and work with patients, families and health professionals.


About us


We are the sole provider of cardiology and cardiac surgical services for infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease in New Zealand and parts of the Pacific Basin. In addition, we provide a fetal cardiology service, and on-going assessment and treatment for those born with congenital heart disease, who are now adults.


Eligibility


Applicants will already have advanced nursing practice experience in paediatric cardiology with a well-grounded clinical practice background and at least 3-5 years’ experience at Level 4 practice. Have demonstrated strong nursing leadership; and be able to play a strategic role within the service to ensure service and organisational objectives are met. Preferably you will have a masters or a post-graduate diploma. You are known for your excellent communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work in a bi-cultural environment.
