We are looking for a programme co-ordinator with strong organisational, research and project management skills.

About us

The Adolescent/Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Network Aotearoa was formally established in 2013 to provide strategic direction and leadership of AYA cancer care in New Zealand. The network is a membership organisation that connects hands-on health professionals and support providers from many disciplines and organisations from around New Zealand. The aim of the network is to find new and innovative ways of delivering care to AYAs with cancer to improve delivery of care and outcomes for 12 to 24 year olds.

The Role

The AYA Cancer Network requires a programme co-ordinator to work within a small team. The role will be vital to the success of the Network programme given that you will be responsible for providing project co-ordination and guidance to the planning, implementing and maintaining of network projects and initiatives.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and organised programme co-ordinator that will see you working across a variety of different projects and initiatives. It’s a role that offers stretch, challenge and growth, sometimes you will be supporting and co-ordinating and other times stepping up and taking the lead.

You’ll need to be prepared to do project ‘grunt work’ like the organisation and administration of working groups in addition to the scoping, development and, implementation of initiatives and activities. Important is the ability to foster good working relationships and collaboration with stakeholders and organisations across the country.

What do you bring?

We’re looking for a person who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people, with a “can do” and “will do” attitude, who is innovative and has strong organisational and project management skills. Experience and proficiency in research skills would be desirable. You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification, perhaps in health, social science or management and have relevant project/programme co-ordination experience with a proven track record.

As our preferred candidate, you’ll be a confident and skilled communicator, as well as being technically brilliant with computers and software programmes required for project management and research. Excellent written and oral presentation skills is essential and an ability to write high quality proposals and reports is desirable.
