Job Description

In the heart of Federal Street, to further tantalise and shape a world class dining experience right here in Auckland, SKYCITY is adding to our award winning dining precinct with a new authentic contemporary Chinese restaurant.

Anticipated to open in June 2017, our new Chinese Restaurant and Bar will feature strikingly stunning architecture inspired from old Shanghai and the Yuan Garden. Huge bi-folding glass doors open the bar directly onto Federal Street and our grand front doors offer our guests a luxurious arrival.

Featuring a main dining room with a variety of round tables, banquette seating and three private rooms, we'll offer a lunch and dinner service that's sharp and truly above the rest. The cuisine will be authentic yet contemporary, prepared using traditional techniques, methods and ingredients in our open kitchen. There will be live seafood, exquisite hand crafted dim sum and expertly prepared BBQ as well as dishes from the wok. We'll also feature the only wood fired duck oven in New Zealand!

Our Restaurant Manager, Kai Zhao, is on the hunt for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Restaurant Host to join his fresh new team. As a Senior Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and integral to ensuring that seating arrangements and reservations are correct for each person.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to deliver international standards of service that our customers will come to expect. The ability to speak Chinese or Mandarin would be great although this is not essential.

Besides working with great people you will enjoy a variety of company benefits including heavily discounted staff car parking, medical insurance and $2.50 meals at our staff cafeteria as well as fantastic career opportunities through NZ's largest entertainment provider.

This is a truly exciting opportunity that can't be overlooked, so if this sounds like the role for you, please apply online today!
