Job Description

All organisations globally are in a constant state of change. The frequency of change required is increasing and the turnaround time to achieve the necessary outcomes is decreasing exponentially. The more successful a company is in implementing and managing this change, the more it will pull away from its competitors and achieve market dominance. As a program management practitioner at EY, you will help organisations deliver successful outcomes for some of the world's largest and most complex programs, be it in Information Technology, Business Transformation or Capital Investment. Working in a globally integrated team, you can also work in a variety of industry sectors.
The opportunity to shape your career is yours - whether your passion lies in helping a Government organisation to successfully build a power plant or in working with an Investment Bank to implement an organisation-wide Enterprise Resource Planning system. So whenever you join, however long you stay, the exceptional EY experience lasts a lifetime.

As part of our growing Advisory business, our Portfolio and Program Management (PPM) practice helps clients navigate change and successfully manage large complex programs, in Transport, Utilities, Social Housing, Education and Infrastructure sectors.

We are looking for highly motivated self-starters and strong team players who like to challenge themselves; who can think strategically but enjoy “rolling up their sleeves” and work with clients in the trenches to get the job done.

As part of our team in Auckland, you will become part of an integrated national practice with access to regional opportunities in Asia Pacific. You will also have access to extensive learning and development, coaching and mentoring in a very supportive and collegiate environment.

As a Manager/Senior Manager you will:

Be involved in complex capital programs spanning the entire lifecycle - from concept, feasibility and financing, through planning statutory process & design, into procurement, construction, commissioning & operational readiness
Lead business development, sales and client account management
Lead delivery teams on complex programs
Build relationship networks within the firm and work collaboratively across Advisory and other service lines
Mentor, coach and develop staff
Actively contribute to PPM practice management activities
Lead thought leadership initiatives

You will bring:

Hands on experience on major capital projects/business change programs as client/owner or part of contractor teams
10 years plus experience in sales and delivery of complex reform projects and programs
Proven track record in positions including strategy, project management/engineering, risk management/project controls, commercial ( inc EPCM) legal and or/regulatory compliance
Have experience in working for a government, non- government and/or leading consulting organisation delivering reform programs
Demonstrated track record in a management consulting environment, within a Big 4 or boutique consulting firm
Sound analytical and problem solving ability
