Job Description
The position of Technical Consultant is to provide analysis, design, oversight and QA of the technical consulting for Objective solutions and is responsible for all technical delivery aspects of Objective implementations, upgrades and ongoing support. The position covers client facing Delivery, High Level Analysis, QA and Sales Support for product installation, configuration, integration, customization, data migration and troubleshooting.
Required Skills
High Level Analysis - Lead the High Level Analysis for the technical stream, facilitating workshops to confirm the technical solution and migration strategy. Document the outcome in accordance with the methodology.
Project Delivery - Lead the technical stream of the project. Responsible for on time, within estimate, delivery of all technical components of a project.
Product Installation - Responsible for successful installation, testing and certification of the Objective software within the customer environment, according to the specified configuration, across all platforms and databases.
Data Migration - Work closely with the project team to determine the required data migration, develop migration scripts typically using SQL. Utilise Objective tools to test the migration process, and execute the production migration, ensuring that all data is successfully migrated.
Integration - Design and documentation of bespoke solutions, prototyping and development of custom software including integrations to 3rd party systems utilising the Objective APIs where appropriate. Development to be conducted to a high quality and thoroughly tested. Documentation is as important as the development itself in ensuring the solution meets the customers overall business requirements.
Testing and Support - Work with the project team to test the end to end solution and provide ongoing support during User Acceptance Testing and Go Live.
Business Development - Responsible for the technical components of all submitted tenders and Sales proposals including Technical Architecture, Data Migration Strategy, Solution Design, Customisation, and estimates. Provide assistance in the sales process through customer presentations and meetings.
Global Practice Contributions - Contributors to the Objective Forums and Communities of Practice which covers the UK and APAC. Ensuring continuous improvement in the “way we work at Objective” through contribution to ‘Best Practice’ via improvements in our methodology.
Required Experience
Database admin – Oracle and SQL Server
O/S - Windows and Unix (with a preference for Solaris)
Technical Architecture and Infrastructure design
SQL scripting, including one of PL/SQL or Transact/SQL
Hands on programming experience and strong capability in one or more of the following languages:
Java
.Net (e.g. VB, C#)
C/C++
Web services and technologies e.g. SOAP, REST, JSON, XML
LDAP
